Wavelength-Stabilized Laser Diode Modules for Biophotonic Applications
|
Green laser diodes which have recently been introduced to the market are an additional type of diode substitute for conventional gas-discharge lasers and solid-state lasers. The green laser diodes emit at 515 nm and are therefore - together with 488 nm laser diodes - an alternative to the common argon ion laser.
IMM Photonics offers a wavelength-stabilized laser diode module suitable for both diodes. The wavelength can be stabilized to approx. +/- 0.01 nm. The optical power output is between 10 mW and 60 mW at 488 nm and between 10 mW and 40 mW at 515 nm. Cylindrical and square models are available. There are a huge variety of applications in biophotonics for both modules. They are used, for example, in laser confocal microscopy, in flow cytometers, with DNA sequencers and with FRET. In addition, we also offer wavelength-stabilized laser diode modules with 375 nm, 395 nm, 405 nm, 445 nm, and 473 nm. The laser diode module can be designed according to customer specifications (defined beam profile). |

New Light Source Modules for Spectrometers
|
The newly developed light source modules by IMM Photonics offer many new fields of application.
The 980 nm laser light source module is suitable for exciting lanthanides. By means of a light quantum effect these modules shine in the visible spectral range. They are predominantly used for safety technology applications, because they can be used to unobtrusively mark objects. The laser module is now available with 1.4 mW and with 70 mW respectively (other outputs on request). We also have further expanded our LED light source portfolio by a 365 nm ultraviolet light source, a 505 nm light source, a 590 nm light source as well as a 940 nm infrared light source. Consequently LED light sources are available for the entire spectral range of the ilumspec spectrometer. They can be used for fluorescence excitation or for the measurement of optical filters. White LEDs, which are built according to the common principle of converting blue light into white, have a gap in the green spectral range. This gap is closed by means of the green LED. Thus color measurements as well as color comparisons can be carried out. |

Spectrometer with Exchangeable Light Source Modules
|
Featuring a spectral resolution of < 2 nm, the spectrometer, developed by IMM Photonics, covers the range of wavelengths between 360 nm and 1040 nm. The measurement accuracy is < +/- 0.5 nm. The repeat accuracy is < +/- 0.2 nm.
Distinctive feature: The light source modules integrated in the spectrometer can be individually assembled and easily replaced by the user. Thus it is simple to operate, for example, a high-power LED white light source and a laser reference source at the same time, or to perform a recalibration of the spectrometer. Light conductors guide the light from the sources to the probe and recirculate the useful optical signal to the spectrometer. In order to protect the light conductors from damage in field use they are run along the inside of a metal corrugated tube and end in a compact measuring head. The spectrometer is controlled and supplied with power via a USB interface. The software turns the light sources on and off, and modulates them individually. In order to regulate the intensity, pulse-width modulation (PWM) is implemented as a standard. The operation-ready light source modules, which are designed for light conductors with 2.5 mm standard ferrule, can also be used externally - such as for specific lighting solutions. For such purposes IMM Photonics offers separate module holders. |
|

Laser Diode Module with External Thread for Industrial Use
|
The new laser diode module by IMM Photonics GmbH is particularly suited for industrial applications because it can be directly screwed into a bore hole – for example in industrial machinery or measuring equipment. This ensures that it will not have to be positioned and can no longer become out of calibration (e.g. due to machine vibrations).
In addition, this kind of fastening will make for proper heat dissipation as the laser diode module has nearly full contact with the surrounding metallic material. This in turn increases the life cycle of the laser diode.
Optionally the laser diode module can be equipped with a specified plug-in connection. Other specifications are available on request.
