Look back on ANGA Cable 2011 in Cologne

„Cleaning", „Check", „Inspection" had been IMM Photonics headline in 2011 ANGA Cable show in Cologne.

"Cleaning" with IBC™-M250 und IBC™-ODC, two new tools for dry cleaning in fiber optic application were this years product highlight.

The key feature of the IBC™-M250 is the 1.8 mm diameter cleaned area on the ferrule end face. This diameter is a good insurance against repeated migration of contamination along the surface in to the most sensitive area of fiber and cladding. This very versatile tool has a special geometry in adapter and application nozzle. For this it works on almost any type of 2.5 mm ferrule based connector (i.e.: SC, ST, FC, E2000, OptiTap, Mil DTL 83526).

In the same manner the IBC™-ODC works as „universal" tool for all kind of connectors based on 1.25 mm ferrules (many Out Door Connectors, URM-modules, LC, LC secure key, MU etc.)

IBC™-Cleaner are designed for unmated connectors and connectors still residing in the adapter of the faceplate.

The protective cap at cleaner end serves as dust protection as well as for adjusting unmated connectors to the cleaning tip.

IBC™-Cleaner very effectively remove oil, dust and other contaminations from ferrules with PC or APC polish. To clean MPO, HBMT™ and ARRAY connectors the IBC™-Multifiber-Cleaner achieves optimum results.

To "Check" on continuity, identify sharp bents or breaks the handheld FIBERPOINT®-series red light sources have proven to be the tool of choice.

„Inspection" with Lightel video fiber microscopes attracted a lot of attention. All microscopes underwent redesign on many details in early 2011. The handheld probe got a full set of redesigned plus some new adapter tips. The new adapter tips are compatible with some of the probes thatoptionally come along with new OTDR tools. Lightel Technologies offers the broadest range of adapter tips in the market.
