IMM Photonics markets two new small tools for 1.25 and 2.5 mm ferrule fiber optic connector dry cleaning.

IBC™-Zi25 and IBC™-Zi125 are new tools within the well proven IBC™ product family made by US Conec. The IBC™-Zi25/-Zi125 tools have a significantly smaller size. These are dedicated to application in narrow space work situation. About 60 mm smaller than the well know IBC™-SC/ -LC. A key chain clipping to users work clothing helps to keep hands free.

The Zi25 tool is designed to clean SC, ST, FC, E2000 and OptiTap connectors with PC or APC polishes. The Zi125 tool is designed LC and MU connectors with PC and APC polishes.

Both tools clean connectors loaded in a bulkhead adapter and on unmated cable assemblies.

US Conec says it will not scratch the fiber endface surface while removing dust particulates and liquid residues. The spring loaded tip is engineered to ensure the optimal compression range for optimum contact to the center of UPC and APC polished ferrules.

The alignment cap and cleaning tip are self aligning. The Zi25/ Zi125 uses a natural pushing motion for engagement and gives an audible "click" to alert the operator when the tool has been fully engaged.

The Zi25 / Zi125 tool has a life of at least 525 engagements and locks up at the end of the tool's life to prevent accidental cross contamination.
